Hi, I’m Dana - the heart behind Whole Heart Yoga. I am a student, a thinker, and a guide. If you're a deep feeler, if you're ready for a yoga practice that nurtures your mind and your heart, as well as your body–then I might be your new favorite yoga teacher.
I am a curious, down-to-earth teacher who enjoys framing my offerings around yogic philosophy, poetry, and the rhythms of nature. My style is accessible, trauma-informed, and creative. As a deeply feeling weirdo myself, I teach authentically from the heart.
In 2022, my casual yoga practice deepened after my husband died. I was a young widow caring for my toddler daughter. Yoga helped me heal. It gave me a safe place to land when everything else felt overwhelming. Bit by bit, practice by practice, yoga brought me back to myself.
This story of loss doesn't define me, but it shaped my journey into yoga. After I discovered how powerful yoga can be, I decided to dedicate my life to sharing it with others who are navigating their own stormy seasons. I left my long-time career in public librarianship to raise my daughter and teach yoga to those who are ready to explore the practice.
